Frootbridge Square

A charming oak tree-lined community in Studio City, Footbridge Square earns its namesake from the Laurelgrove footbridge crossing the LA River to Ventura Blvd. This gives the area easy access to some of the best shopping, dining, and entertainment in Studio City. The walking path by the footbridge goes along 1.9 miles of the LA River channel, which is a great place to take a casual stroll, jog, run, or enjoy the local parks that line the river. You can enjoy the natives plants, public art, rock walls, ramps, and shaded benches. The Footbridge Square community is bound by Moorpark to the north, Whisett to the west, Laurel Canyon to the east, and Ventura Blvd. to the south. It is within the district boundaries for the prestigious Carpenter Avenue Elementary School.

The neighborly area also holds a number of special annual events, such as a 4th of July parade and a barbecue potluck, both of which have been running strong for over four decades. Nearly a thousand people participate in the yearly 4th of July parade, kicking off at Valley Spring Lane and St. Claire Avenue and circling the area before finishing at Art Altonian’s house, one of the most active organizers of both the parade and the potluck party. The barbecue potluck features art, pancake flipping, music, and joyful neighborhood chatter.
